New work exploring and playing with repeated ovals and ovoids in clay and wool.
I have noticed art makers often identify with repeated shapes, forms, colours, textures and motifs. The repetition is the formation of a person’s expression, their creative language. This small gathering of work is an exploration into one of my shape/forms I am drawn to – the oval and ovoid. The reference to female cells is a motif that has long been part of my artistic identity. Wool fabric I have loved since a very small child (probably got that from my mother) and clay is a more recent adoration. Having the opportunity to play with these materials together has accorded much delight.
