Opening: November 17 5:30 pm

Viewing: November 17 until November 27

The mundane visual and auditory noise of homelife examined and transposed into photography and sound visualisations.

Thisness is defined as the “quality in a thing of being here and now, or such as it is”. The everyday visual and auditory noise of our house can be mundane or undesirable. In examining these minutiae, we transpose a collection of site-specific details into photographic and sound visualisations that capture a moment of homelife.

Joe is a practising graphic designer with a background in sound art. Kay has returned to photography in recent years and works in research and writing. They are married, have two young tamariki and have launched a publishing social enterprise as Tāngata Tiriti.
