What is said of Hope

What is said of Hope

Leigh Anderton-Hall

Opening: September 22 5:00 pm

Viewing: September 22 until October 2

“We hope. We despair. We hope. We despair. That is what governs us. We have a bipolar system.” Maira Kalman

Hope locates itself in the premises that we don’t know what will happen and that in the spaciousness of uncertainty is room to act.”  Rebecca Solnit

In architecture, a corbel is a structural piece of stone, wood or metal jutting from a wall to carry a superincumbent weight, a type of bracket. I thought of the structural weight of systems organising everything, the sort despair after reading too much Foucault.

It is through the writers and artists we can escape and arrive to a small bottle or cloud of hope.

Due to recent announcements by the government confirming the event cap of 50 increasing to 100 people we will no longer need to split our opening for this exhibition into two sessions as previously advertised; we will still open from 5pm however.

Please note we will not be serving refreshments or food at exhibition openings in Level 2; instead we offer this as an occasion to meet the artists and to be among the first to see their new work.

On entry you will be required to sign-in, sanitize and wear a mask.
