Anthony Davies
Opening: September 17 5:30 pm
Viewing: September 16 until October 4
In early 2023 within a period of 24 hours ‘Cyclone Gabrielle’ travelled over the Northern Island of New Zealand causing colossal damage in the Hawke’s Bay area.
It’s effect, limited communication and created major power outages, evacuations of property, destruction of rural businesses and highway closures. A national state of emergency was declared.
Two years on some people remain displaced and their properties smothered by silt and still facing an uncertain future. A landscape totally transformed and, in some places, unrecognizable.
