The kingdom of mushrooms and fungi serves an important role in keeping the forestry in great condition. These tiny but mighty creatures are the growth and repair organism that restores the integrity of the forest. I have always admired the vast species of mushroom and fungi as well as their appearance and function which became the muse for my paintings.
Pastel on canvas is an unfamiliar territory in art making that I have explored in the last 8 months. I have been on a journey, finding ways to preserve such a delicate medium that I obsessed over this process for a few months and only found answers recently. This grueling process of trial and error of what works has stretched me to become a better artist.
