Stitched Realities
Inge Flinte & Natalie Holland
Opening: October 29 5:30 pm
Viewing: October 29 until November 15
Stitched Realities brings together artists Natalie Holland and Inge Flinte in an exploration of identity, culture, and belonging. Both of us come from mixed backgrounds – Niuean and Japanese/German – and our work reflects the experience of living between worlds.
Through contemporary textile and mixed-media processes – including punch needle, tufting, stitching, painting, and photography – we reimagine traditional techniques and motifs from our heritages. The process becomes a way to reconnect with the stories and materials that have shaped us, while also creating space for new narratives to emerge.
For us, Stitched Realities is about connection – piecing together fragments of heritage, memory, and place. It’s a deeply personal process, but one that we hope speaks to anyone who has ever felt in-between.
