This series of felted works emerged since I moved into my studio at Space Gallery where I started to play with acrylic paints on sheer silk fabric which are then incorporated into my usual medium of felting. The use of acrylics enabled me to paint intuitively whatever wanted to come through me in the moment and to be later transmitted into felted paintings.

Transmissions of Light explores and celebrates the wonder of light which is one of the most powerful forces in the universe and I am always fascinated and inspired by it. It’s both, a natural phenomenon and a central part of the daily human experience. Light carries energy and information and shapes how we see, feel, connect, work and live. Whether it is transmitted through different qualities of matter, or internally beyond the physical photons during introspection and dreams, or metaphorical as a source of creativity, truth and hope, it is contrasting with darkness.
