Isla Osborne – Small Celebrations

$90 each | $240 for a cluster of three | $420 for a cluster of five celebrations

I work with glass on an intimate scale, directly linked to my jewellery practice. Using the ancient technique of lampworking, I melt, blow and shape glass in the flame of a blowtorch, letting heat, gravity and timing shape each form. Droplets of glass usually used to make earrings are reimagined as part of a shared visual experience, blurring the line between jewellery and sculpture.

Each of the 18 celebrations that make up this work is pendant-sized, with coloured glass suspended like sparks mid-explosion. When grouped, the forms echo fireworks, moments of joy frozen in time. By repeating and clustering these small forms, the work shifts from the personal scale to something more collective. Small Celebrations reflects the role of making in my practice. When the world feels overwhelming and chaotic, returning to the flame offers a sense of calm and continuity. This work celebrates personal moments of joy found through process and repetition.
