Each day questions arise as I tend our bees and rather wild coastal garden.  I’m curious about what I can’t see and don’t know.  What transformations, patterns and cycles am I seeing on microscopic and macroscopic levels?

Science and Art are the vehicles I use to explore where we might fit in to this whole. As artists and citizen scientists we can all actively engage with our world. Undoubtedly there’s a special kind of revery in those moments when we allow ourselves time to pay attention to and wonder about our surroundings. Often we do find our own answers.  In my case, I explore what those answers might be through making Art.

Nearly thirty years ago I graduated from Elam with an MFA specialising in Sculpture, then taught Visual Arts here in New Zealand and overseas.  Later in life, I trained in Organic Horticulture and taught an industry qualification in that.  Today, I’m purely studio based, producing work on paper, mostly large scale.
