$130 ranging to $250 P.O.A

‘This is Māori land’ binds native and introduced bird species to uku with muka.

These bindings reassert mana motuhake over the trauma lines embedded within indigenous wāhine living in a colonised society.

These works track specific years of sexual assault in my life.

It is said that prior to colonisation and the pastoralisation of Aotearoa, the sound of manu taketake was so loud it was almost deafening. Today, much of our ngāhere has been ravaged and silenced by generations of ill practice.

It takes women on average sixteen years to speak up after sexual violence. (A’Court, 2018)
