Have a little Faith.

When I hear these well-known words ‘If you have faith as small as a mustard seed you can move a mountain’ – I find myself, at times wondering, if I have any faith at all.

Faced with certain mountainous challenges in life, I often believe ‘my mustard seed would need to be the size of a planet to move that mountain’!

Nevertheless, in those moments I still hand my miniscule sized faith seed over to God and ask for the challenging situation to be moved; inched – even – toward health or healing or hopefulness.

On reflection, so often mountains that seemed insurmountable, have been shifted.

For me, my faith finds solace in the fact that even though I am weak; the God of my faith is strong. And where I lack ‘enough trust’ – God shows himself to be trustworthy.

In my painting the tiny mustard seed waits patiently to be watered. The blue iris represents faith and the abstract shapes represent the many mountains being shifted – often to the viewers joyful surprise.
