The reduced colour palette of this work was guided by the natural world in winter. It conveys stillness ruled only by the rhythms of the sun, moon and the stars. Within the trees in winter, activity slows down, aliveness turns inward and retreats into the trunk and root system. It doesn’t mean life comes to a halt.

Wintering represents a sacred, fertile pause of pure potentiality, where surrender, transformation and growth occur. A time in between, like in a cocoon, where life energy is preserved, and matter is slowly rewoven. Like circles and dots are symbols of wholeness and point to the origin and the potential of all, like seeds from which all life grows, so is winter a time of endings, transition, and a starting point at the same time.
