An ember holds potential. An ember, if fed, can grow into a consuming flame or fade into ash. Fanned to flame it must be contained to feel safe. Fire is a symbol of creation, connection and transformation. In this exhibition, fire is explored as both subject and/or medium. Artworks span all forms and disciplines — from those reflecting on the impact or meaning of fire or works forged, burned, or shaped by flame or heat.

A big thank-you to the panel judges — Carla Donson of the Women’s Network Whanganui, Renata Szarvas from Renata’s Art & Framing, and Sarah Narine of Space Studio & Gallery — for their expertise in curating this exhibition. The calibre of entries was extremely high; we hope you enjoy the resulting Winter Wonderfest Feature exhibition.

Space Studio & Gallery will donate 5% of all artwork sales to the Women’s Network Whanganui.
