The heavens – the moon, the planets, the stars, the immense space – all evoke intense emotions in us.
We look at the night sky with awe and wonder, especially the moon, the closest to us and that which has the most profound affect. It affects when we plant and when we harvest and when we might fish and when creatures may hunt or spawn or hatch.
The moon not only has gravitational pull but an emotional pull. We may fall in love under a full moon and our loneliness seems more intense.
We personify the stars when a loved one dies, we say they are a new and bright star in the sky.
The ancient Greeks deified them.
The beauty and wonder can be shared by all Earthly humans and creatures alike. Truly awesome.
